A powerful blast struck Quetta this morning, killing at least 22 people and injuring 28 others. The explosion occurred outside a polling station near Eastern Bypass area. According to sources at the Civil Hospital, it is learned that 22 people have died in the blast while 28 others wounded. They feared that the death toll could increase, as most of the injured were in serious condition. The constituency, where the latest terror attack occurred, is NA-260. DIG Javed Akbar Riaz said the Bomb Disposal Squad was collecting evidence to ascertain nature of the blast. He said the blast was an attempt to sabotage the election. A state of emergency has been declared in nearby hospitals where injured have been moved.
