DC-ISLAMABAD -The Director-General (SA & SAARC), Dr. Mohammad Faisal, summoned the Indian Acting Deputy High Commissioner and condemned the unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Indian occupation forces along the Line of Control on 31st December 2018 in Athmuqam, Shahkot Sector which resulted in the shahadat of an innocent woman Asia Bibi w/o Muhammad Haroon, while 7 civilians including two women and three children sustained splinter injuries. According to a statement issued by Foreign Office, the Indian forces along the Line of Control and the Working boundary are continuously targeting civilian populated areas with heavy weapons. In 2018, the Indian forces have carried out more than 2350 ceasefire violations along the Line of Control and the Working Boundary, resulting in the shahadats of 36 innocent civilians, while injuring 142 others. Islamabad- The Islamabad High Court dealt another blow to the ruling Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz after it disqualified the country’s Foreign Minister for life in the disqualification case on Thursday. Khawaja Asif, who is a central leader of PML-N and had contested elections from Sialkot in 2013, was declared ineligible unanimously for holding office, on account of Article 62 (1)(f) of the constitution in a case related to his foreign permit (iqama). ‘Khawaja Asif deliberately concealed his assets’ remarked the court in a short judgment announced by Justice Athar Minallah who headed a three-member larger bench. The Islamabad High Court also directed the Election Commission of Pakistan to de-notify the lawmaker and according to the judgment, Asif will be unable to hold public or party office.
