سری لنکا میں فسادات پھوٹنے پر سابق کرکٹرز بھی میدان میں آگئے

 بھر میں ایمرجنسی نافذ ہے اور اب سابق کرکٹرز نے بھی لوگوں سے پرامن رہنے کی اپیل کی ہے۔
چند ہفتے قبل سری لنکا کے شہر کینڈی سے اٹھنے والے فسادات نے دیگر شہروں کو بھی اپنی لپیٹ میں لے لیا جس کے بعد ملک بھر میں 10 روز کے لئے ہنگامی صورتحال نافذ ہے۔
موجودہ صورتحال پر سابق کرکٹرز بھی میدان میں آگئے اور انہوں نے عوام سے اپیل.کی ہے کہ وہ پرتشدد کارروائیوں کا حصہ نہ بنیں
سری لنکا کے سابق کپتان کمار سنگارا نے اپنے ٹوئٹر اور ویڈیو پیغام میں کہا ہے کہ سری لنکا میں کوئی بھی شخص اپنے مذہب یا ذات کے اعتبار سے کم تر، نقصان دہ اور خوف کی علامت نہیں ہے، ہم ایک قوم اور ایک ملک ہیں۔
سنگاکارا نے کہا کہ پیار، اعتماد اور ایک دوسرے کو قبول کرنا ہمارا مشترکہ مقصد ہونا چاہیے، منافرت اور تشدد کی معاشرے میں کوئی جگہ نہیں۔
کمار سنگاکارا نے عوام سے اپیل کی کہ پرتشدد کارروائیوں کو بند کیا جائے اور پوری قوم ایک ساتھ کھڑی ہوجائے۔
سابق سری لنکن کپتان مہیلا جے وردھنے نے بھی موجودہ صورتحال کی شدید مذمت کی اور مطالبہ کیا کہ پرتشدد کارروائیوں میں جو بھی ملوث ہے اسے مذہب اور قومیت سے بالاتر ہوکر انصاف کے کٹہرے میں لایا جائے۔
جے وردھنے نے کہا کہ 25 سال تک سری لنکا میں جاری رہنے والی خانہ جنگی میں وہ بڑے ہوئے اور اب نہیں چاہتے کہ آنے والی نسل بھی اس کا شکار بنے۔
