BLA claims responsibility for Chinese consulate attack

DC-Security forces on Friday morning foiled an attack on the Chinese Consulate in the Clifton Block-4 area of the city. Two policemen, Assistant Sub Inspector Ashraf Dawood, and Constable Amir were martyred and a security guard injured as three gunmen tried to enter the consulate around 9:00am. Two visa applicants from Quetta, a father, and son identified as Niaz Muhammad and Muhammad Zahir Shah, also lost their lives in the attack.





The terrorists were trying to enter the consulate from the visa issuance section but were intercepted by security personnel at a checkpoint. According to reports, the terrorists detonated a hand grenade before the opening gunfire. Sindh Police and Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed that all three terrorists had been killed in the operation.“They [terrorists] had hand grenades and SMGs. They wanted to make their way inside [the consulate]. One was neutralized outside, the other two were neutralized in the ensuing operation by police and Rangers which lasted for 30-35 minutes,” Inspector General Sindh Police Kaleem Imam told reporters.

Master Mind of Karachi Attack 

Investigators probing failed attacked on the Chinese consulate in Karachi disclosed that the assault was orchestrated by a commander of the outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) militant group.

The attackers, however, failed to enter the consulate compound and were intercepted by security personnel at the checkpoint. Sources add that Achchu is currently undergoing medical treatment at Max Hospital in New Delhi, after being injured in an operation by Pakistani security forces near Sibi, Balochistan last year.



The operation, which was carried out a one-and-a-half year ago, had left several BLA terrorists dead, according to sources.The wounded BLA commander had fled to India.Achchu is one of the key commanders of BLA chief Dr Allah Nazar.He is also blamed for killing of lawyers, police personnel, journalists and doctors, the sources added.

A need for educational emergency in Pakistan

Pakistan is transitioning from an agriculture economy to industrial economy. The country spends most of its budget on national security and infrastructure, a very low proportion of budget is allocated for social services such as education and health.  With the increasing poverty in the world, the ratio of Out of School children is increasing day by day. According to the UNESCO, almost 264 million children do not go to the school. Globally, 1 in 5 adolescents is not in school compared to almost 1 in 10 primary school-age children.
