The killing of 11 miners belonging to the minority Hazara community has sparked anger and public outrage across Pakistan. The heirs of the deceased have kept their dead bodies on the road as a protest. Hazara community have refused to bury the bodies till the arrival of Prime Minister Imran Khan. Remember that this is not the first attack on the Hazara community.
ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attack, but such incidents have always been linked to India in Pakistan. Pakistani law enforcement agencies have repeatedly accused the Indian intelligence agency RAW of conspiring and spreading unrest in Balochistan. The arrest of Indian spy Kulbhushan Yadav is presented as a major piece of evidence.
When such terrorist incidents occur in any country around the world, the government, the people, and the law enforcement agencies of that country prior to blaming the terrorists first they admire and inquire about their own security failures. But there is no such tradition in Pakistan. Civil governments here, even if they want to, are afraid to demand the formation of such a commission.
Army Public School Peshawar attack was blamed on RAW, attack on lawyers in Balochistan was blamed on RAW, but no one in Pakistan can question the failure of their institutions who failed to fulfill their responsibility properly. Many journalists in the Pakistani media will have these questions in their minds but they cannot bring them to the tongue. If we look at all these incidents if RAW, NDS and other terrorist groups are so active in Balochistan, then what are the security agencies of Pakistan doing there? Such allegations give the impression that Pakistan security and law enforcement agencies have no control over Balochistan and the enemies roaming freely there.
Pakistan's parliament and opposition should set up a commission of inquiry into security failures. A large sum of the country's budget is spent on defense and military spending each year, but peace has not been restored in Pakistan's Balochistan and tribal districts after major operations.
