ڈاکٹر شکیل آفریدی اڈیالہ جیل منتقل

القاعدہ کے سربراہ اسامہ بن لادن کی گرفتاری میں مبینہ طور پر امریکہ کی مدد کرنے والے پاکستانی ڈاکٹر شکیل آفریدی کو پشاور جیل سے راولپنڈی کی اڈیالہ جیل منتقل کردیا ہے۔

(VOA-URDU)-شکیل آفریدی پر الزام عائد کیا جاتا ہے کہ انہوں نے اسامہ بن لادن کی تلاش میں امریکی خفیہ ایجنسی سی آئی اے کو مدد فراہم کی تھی۔
مئی 2012 میں شکیل آفریدی کو ایک پاکستانی عدالت نے غداری کے مقدمے میں 33 برس قید کی سزا سنائی تھی۔ بعد ازاں شکیل آفریدی پر عسکریت پسندوں سے تعلق رکھنے کا الزام بھی عائد کیا گیا تھا۔
پاکستانی حکومت کا دعویٰ ہے کہ شکیل آفریدی نے اسامہ بن لادن کا ڈی این اے حاصل کرنے کے لیے ایبٹ آباد میں پولیو کے قطرے پلانے کی ایک جعلی مہم شروع کی تھی۔ جس کے بعد 2 مئی 2011 کو امریکی اسپیشل فورسز نے ایک خفیہ آپریشن کرتے ہوئے ایبٹ آباد کے ایک مضافاتی علاقے میں اسامہ بن لادن کو ہلاک کر دیا تھا۔
ڈاکٹر شکیل آفریدی کو 2012 میں پشاور سے گرفتار کیا گیا تھا۔
ڈاکٹر شکیل آفریدی کے وکیل قمر ندیم نے وائس اف امریکہ سے بات کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ ان کی معلومات کے مطابق آج انہیں سینٹرل جیل پشاور سے راولپنڈی کی اڈیالہ جیل منتقل کردیا گیا ہے۔
شکیل آفریدی کی رہائی کے بارے میں ایک سوال کے جواب میں وکیل نے کہا کہ 22 مئی کو ان کی قید کو سات سال پورے ہوجائیں گے۔
انہوں نے کہا آفریدی کو پہلے 33 سال قید کی سزا سنائی گئی تھی جو بعد میں دس سال کم ہونے کے بعد 23 سال رہ گئی ہے۔ اگر اس کے ساتھ معافیاں ملا لی جائیں تو سزا کا دورانیہ 7 سال ہی بنتا ہے۔
ایڈوکیٹ قمر ندیم نے کہا کہ وہ پُرامید ہے کہ آفریدی کو اگلے ماہ تک رہا کر دیا جائے گا۔
دوسری جانب پشاور جیل کی انتظامیہ نے ڈاکٹر شکیل کی اڈیالہ منتقلی کے حوالے سے گردش کرنے والی کسی بھی قسم کی خبر کی کوئی تصدیق نہیں کی۔
