More than 2.5 million voters will cast votes in seven districts and six frontier regions of Tribal Belt

DC: BY Salahuddin Salarzai Islamabad.-After long-awaited FATA reforms, now finally the stage of real merger reached,, The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Wednesday notified allocation of provincial assembly seats to former tribal agencies. According to a notification issued by the ECP, the seats were allocated to each tribal district and former Frontier regions according to 6th Population Census 2017. Bajaur and Khyber tribal districts were allocated three seats each, while, Mohmand, Kurram, North and South Waziristan tribal districts were given two seats each in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly. Top US commander in Afghanistan sees peace opportunity in 2019

KABUL: The top US general in Afghanistan told NATO troops on Tuesday to prepare themselves to deal with “positive processes or negative consequences” as peace talks between the US and the Taliban to end a 17-year war gain momentum. General Scott Miller, who commands US forces and the NATO-led non-combat Resolution Support (RS) mission in Afghanistan reiterated the need for a political settlement to end the conflict. “Peace talks (are) out there, regional players pressing for peace, the Taliban talking about peace, the Afghan government is talking about peace,” Miller told dozens of NATO soldiers who had gathered at RS headquarters in Kabul for an exercise session. Pakistan lodges protest with India over ceasefire violation, killing of civilian

DC-ISLAMABAD -The Director-General (SA & SAARC), Dr. Mohammad Faisal, summoned the Indian Acting Deputy High Commissioner and condemned the unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Indian occupation forces along the Line of Control on 31st December 2018 in Athmuqam, Shahkot Sector which resulted in the shahadat of an innocent woman Asia Bibi w/o Muhammad Haroon, while 7 civilians including two women and three children sustained splinter injuries. According to a statement issued by Foreign Office, the Indian forces along the Line of Control and the Working boundary are continuously targeting civilian populated areas with heavy weapons. In 2018, the Indian forces have carried out more than 2350 ceasefire violations along the Line of Control and the Working Boundary, resulting in the shahadats of 36 innocent civilians, while injuring 142 others. PM Imran, Ali Gohar Mahar discuss political situation in Sindh

DC-Islamabad-Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) member Sindh Assembly Ali Gohar Mahar called on Prime Minister Imran Khan at PM Office here on Tuesday. During the meeting, PM Imran Khan and PTI lawmaker discussed prevailing political situation in the province. Following the damning JIT report which accused the top PPP leadership of being involved in money laundering, PM Imran Khan has stepped in. On Saturday, the PM also telephoned Mahar in presence of Governor Imran Ismail. The lawmaker from Ghotki apprised the prime minister on the fast evolving political situation and invited him to visit the province at earliest. PM Imran expressed concerns and accepted the invitation to visit Sindh soon. During the visit, the premier will meet the important political leaders, it was decided.

PPP demands CM Mahmood Khan’s resignation owing to NAB inquiry

DC- Peshawar-In a tit for tat, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on Tuesday has demanded the resignation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan because he is facing a National Accountability Bureau (NAB) inquiry due to which he cannot continue as KP CM. PPP stalwart and former Senate chairman Senator Mian Raza Rabbani has demanded the resignation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mehmood Khan because he is facing a NAB inquiry. Rabbani made the demand in response to an earlier demand by the ruling PTI of the resignation of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah because he was named in the joint investigation team (JIT) report in the ongoing fake bank accounts case. ""پاکستان کی ترقی میں وقت درکار""۔"" اور وزیر اعظم عمران خان کی مثبت سوچ"" دونوں جملوں میں سے ایک پہ اتفاق کیا کہ آج کہ میرے اس تحریر کا کیا نام ہوجانا چاہئے بالااخر کار زیادہ سوچنے کے بعد ذہن نے اس جملے پہ آمادہ کیا کہ پاکستان کے ترقی میں وقت درکار ہی رکھ لو اس تحریر کے نوبت اس وقت پیش ائی جب پرسوں میں ایک کتاب پڑھ رہا تھا جس کا نام چوٹی کے عمل یعنی انگلش میں اس کتاب کا نام ہوا۔ ""peak performers"" اور یہ کتاب مجھے ایک بوک فیر میں ملی تھی لیکن ملنے کے بعد حزب معمل ایک الماری میں پچھلے ایک سال سے پڑی تھی ۔پرسوں اچانک پڑھنا کا اتفاق ہوا تو معلوم ہوا ان کتاب میں موجود کچھ باتیں اگر میں پاکستان کی حالیہ حالات سے میلاپ کرلو تو بہت فائدہ رہے گا میری بھی اصلاح ہوگی اور پڑھنے والوں کو بھی کچھ فائدہ ملے گا اگر کوئی لینا چاہیں تو۔ امریکہ میں 1960 میں یہ کتاب شائع ہوئی جس کا ابھی میں نے ابھی ذکر کیا جس کا نام چوٹی کے عمل یعنی انگلش میں اس کا نام ""peak performers "" ہے ۔مذکورہ کتاب میں جدید امریکا کے ان...

وزیر خزانہ اسد عمر کے استعفیٰ کی خبروں کو بے بنیاد قرار

اسلام آباد:  وزیراعظم آفس نے وزیر خزانہ اسد عمر کے  استعفیٰ کی خبروں کو بے بنیاد قرار دے دیا ہے۔ ذرائع وزیراعظم آفس کے مطابق وزیر خزانہ اسد عمر نے استعفیٰ نہیں دیا ہے لہذا وزیر خزانہ کے استعفیٰ کے حوالے سے خبروں میں کوئی  صداقت نہیں ہے۔ ترجمان وزارت خزانہ نے بھی کہا ہے کہ وزیرخزانہ کا عبدالرزاق داؤد یا کسی اور سے کوئی جھگڑا نہیں ہوا، صحت مند بحث پارٹی کلچر کا حصہ ہے، بحث ہوتی رہتی ہے۔ وزیر خزانہ اسد عمر نے نا تو استعفیٰ دیا ہے اور نہ ہی استعفیٰ دینے کا فیصلہ کیا ہے۔ وزیرخزانہ کے استعفیٰ کی افواہ بعض عناصر اپنے مذموم مقاصد کے لیے اڑا رہے ہیں۔ دوسری جانب وزیر خزانہ کے استعفیٰ کے معاملے پر تحریک انصاف کے رہنما جہانگیر ترین نے اسد عمر کے ساتھ چپقلش کی تردید کرتے ہوئے کہا ہے کہ اسد عمر اور میرے درمیان اختلاف کی خبر من گھڑت ہے، میرے اور اسد عمر کے درمیان کسی معاملہ پر کوئی اختلاف نہیں
